(NEAREST STARS - IMG COURTESY OF SPACE.COM) My ‘Golden Dream’ or 'Golden Plan’ proposes three near-simultaneous 'one shot’ manned missions to the four stars nearest Earth for the sake of establishing permanent, self-sufficient colonies in orbit around each of those stars. Colonists would exploit and launch asteroids from here, and also use resources found at the destinations to build massive ring-shaped or toroidal habitats in the Goldilocks Zones of Alpha Centauri A and B, of Proxima Centauri, and of Barnard’s Star.
